It should be noted that with the exception of Tactical Retailing Solutions, these "device drivers" are not device drivers in the truest sense (e.g. a mouse or display driver). Rather, these drivers allow an application to interface with some external hardware through a well-defined communication channel such as a serial port. Real device driver development (e.g. the printer driver listed) requires significantly different development skills involving serious understanding of the OS and its internal operations.
